People are ridiculous! These girls go to places and willing get injected with potentially dangerous materials in order to keep up with the latest trend. WHY?! I can't even imagine. It doesn't even look human. I honestly can't fathom why someone would choose to get that done to them self. When the fab is over, then what? The article says "saline solution that is too concentrated can overload the body's capacity to process salt," and yet, people continue to do it- in the most important part of the body, the head! Again, I ask: WHY?!

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/09/30/2-dead-1-wounded-in-shooting-at-vfw-post-in-florida/#?test=latestnews
This article talks about a shooting that took place at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post. Two people were killed and one was wounded. I don't understand it. Obviously murder is bad, but I would like to have some hope for the human race in thinking that no sane person would kill another human being (they must be messed up in the head), but when their is someone going around targeting a specific group, than they are not sick, they are just awful people. Aside from that, it blows my mind how little respect veterans receive. There is no draft in the U.S. and yet these people choose to go risk their lives for the common good. What happens to them in returned? They come back from the war to find themself homeless or worse, the victim to a murderous rampage.

The article talks about a bullied teen who gets elected to homecoming court as a prank by fellow students. The story is uplifting because it shows the affect a community can have when working together for something good, but it is still awfully sad that it takes a tragedy such as a person getting bullied in order for a group to take a stand or for someone to realize that there is a problem. If it had been acknowledged early on that the girl was getting bullied than she would have never been put in a situation where she did not know if people were electing her to make a joke.

In the article, it tells about a teenager that was stabbed in the stomach. The article talks a lot about the image that people had when they saw the blood, the way that they felt in relation to the situation, but after finishing the reading, I still know little about the person who was stabbed, what kind of neighborhood this took place in, and why the stabbing occurred. Today the media is so stuck on figuring out how to tell a good story that they leave out important information. When reading this someone might think that they have learned a lot about the situation, but really, the person would just be filling in the blanks with movie scenes of gang fights. People are so infatuated with the images the news creates such as "a kid lying on the ground with his shirt off and bleeding" that they miss the greater purpose for an article such as this- to prevent future attacks.
