The article talks about a bullied teen who gets elected to homecoming court as a prank by fellow students. The story is uplifting because it shows the affect a community can have when working together for something good, but it is still awfully sad that it takes a tragedy such as a person getting bullied in order for a group to take a stand or for someone to realize that there is a problem. If it had been acknowledged early on that the girl was getting bullied than she would have never been put in a situation where she did not know if people were electing her to make a joke.
