Police officer? Maybe not.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-man-charged-with-posing-as-officer-to-block-traffic-20121117,0,5141820.story

Can someone please explain to me why there are so many stupid people in the world. In the article above it talks about how a man stopped traffic while impersonating a Chicago police officer. When actual cops showed up he explained that he was just doing his job, but the officers didn't believe him. He got charged with " false impersonation of a police officer and public safety organization as well as obstruction of traffic by a motorist and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. A judge ordered him held in lieu of $10,000 bail." So my question is why. It was clear from the start that he would not get away with this, so what made him think this was a good idea?! Aside from that, how scary is it that there are people running around pretending to be police officers and getting away with it to some extent?! That's pretty worrisome. The man had handcuffs and police sticks in his car. He could have easily confused someone into thinking he was an officer and then abducted them. And if not him, then someone else who has his same plan. It really makes you feel like you can't trust anyone, because with things like this happening, how can you know if anyone is who they say they are. That's a pretty scary thought.
